When to Use Planetary Gearboxes Instead of Worm Gearboxes?
Planetary gearheads offer higher efficiency (up to 97%) and a smaller footprint with high torque density—ideal for dynamic positioning tasks. Worm gearheads, on the other hand, provide high reduction ratios and self-locking capability in a compact, single-stage design. If you need the output shaft to be angled, our right-angle planetary gearhead is the right alternative.
