In hygiene-sensitive production environments (such as food and pharmaceutical processing), simply using a hygienic motor is not enough. The overall system is crucial—the motor, gearbox, and servo controller must function as a single unit, not as a compromise made up of individual components.
The esitron SC8 servo controller, together with the stainless steel motor in hygienic design, forms precisely this unit—as a classic control cabinet solution with a single hybrid cable connecting the controller and the motor.

The hybrid cable with Hiperface DSL transmits power and the encoder signal through a single cable—no separate encoder cable, no second connector on the motor.
Here’s what the SC8 can do in this configuration:

– Positioning, speed, and torque control in a compact controller
– Fieldbus: PROFINET, EtherCAT, and CANopen as standard; additional interfaces available upon request
– Motor protection class: IP69K – resistant to high-pressure cleaning and aggressive cleaning agents
– Sine-wave commutation with field-oriented control (FOC) for smooth, precise operation even at low speeds
– STO (Safe Torque Off) available in accordance with EN 13849
