Why?
Because you can do some really cool things with it, and it truly combines a wide variety of engineering disciplines. It’s challenging, but also exciting. Take the product I’m holding in my hand, for example. It’s a decentralized servo-gear actuator—a combination of mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, and control engineering.
The main advantage of this product is that it eliminates the need for a control cabinet controller and the control cabinet itself. This is referred to as “control-cabinet-free machine concepts.”
It’s not exactly a groundbreaking innovation, but it’s currently getting a lot of attention in the media again. However, it offers a real benefit in many applications—both in terms of cost and technology.
At esitron, that’s exactly what we do—compact, decentralized drive systems.
By the way, the motors come from my other company, GEORGII KOBOLD GmbH & Co. KG. And so, within the Georgii Kobold Group, we can supply everything from a single source:
Controller ➕ Motor ➕ Gearbox.
Specifically, the drive is used in an AGV. It’s a pretty cool application—but unfortunately, I can’t show much more about it…
